The MP is seeking to retain his Mumbai South Lok Sabha seat in the elections
Milind Deora, the sitting Lok Sabha MP from Mumbai South and son of former Union minister Murli Deora, is hoping to retain his seat for the third time after the elections.
Data from the Registrar of Companies (RoC) show Deora, along with his brother Mukul and mother Hema, has direct stakes in two companies: Accumen Properties Pvt. Ltd & Fender Consultants Pvt. Ltd.
His brother Mukul Deora has direct stakes in several other companies, including Watchtower Energy Pvt. Ltd, Watchtower Realty and Services Pvt. Ltd, Watchtower Entertainment Pvt. Ltd, Handmade Prosec Ventures Pvt. Ltd, International Cinema Pvt. Ltd, TV 24x7 Entertainment Pvt. Ltd and Sono Press (India) Pvt. Ltd.
Murli Deora’s wife Pooja has direct stakes in two firm—Swapnajyoti Trading Pvt. Ltd and Blue Haven Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. Along with her film producer fatherManmohan Shetty and mother Aarti Shetty, Pooja has direct stakes in Thrill Park Ltd, Walkwater Media Ltd, Walkwater Properties Pvt. Ltd and Adlabs Shringar Multiplex Cinemas Pvt. Ltd.
Separately, Manmohan Shetty holds significant stakes in Adlabs Entertainment Ltd, Alliance Lumiere Ltd, Essel-Centrum Holdings Ltd, Maurya Sugar Ltd and P&M Infrastructures Ltd, while his wife has a stake in Sea Castle Resorts Pvt. Ltd.
Adlabs Films, that had been set up by Shetty in 1975, was acquired by the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group in 2005. Later, Adlabs Films was renamed Reliance MediaWorks.
Deora did not respond to a questionnaire e-mailed to him.
